Fonality Launches Workshop For Developers Innovating on trixbox and Asterisk Platforms
FtOCC Engineer Course Scheduled for December 4-6, 2007 in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES – September 26, 2007 – Fonality, Inc., a maker of business phone systems for small and medium-size businesses, today announced a new course designed to teach developers how to create custom applications with trixbox, the world's largest Asterisk®-based community and open source telephony platform. Dubbed FtOCC Engineer, it is the most advanced course within the FtOCC (pronounced F-talk) educational series, and will teach trixbox and Asterisk resellers how to write code interfaces that integrate with real world applications like CRM, ticketing and sales force automation.
onality certifies trixbox and Asterisk resellers and IT professionals through a series of workshops - FtOCC Technician, FtOCC Administrator and FtOCC Engineer. Each is customized for a different level of technical expertise and depth of experience with trixbox. FtOCC Engineer is in response to the growing popularity of trixbox as a development platform for creating innovative telephony applications. The course will cover a wide range of topics required for custom development, including database and application integration, implementing text-to-speech, conducting Internet look-ups, and writing to the Asterisk Gateway Interface (AGI) and Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI) using a CGI script, SQL database query or interactive voice response (IVR).
Anyone interested in monetizing Asterisk or trixbox should take note of this course,” said Chris Lyman, Fonality CEO. “It will teach developers how to make real money from the trixbox movement, and in a few days they will learn how to build telephony applications that used to cost millions to develop."
