fax on trixbox

Hi community,
is it necessary to have a zaptel card or tdm400p to make fax on trixbox or asterisk in general?

Fax just work fine in

Fax just work fine in trixbox 2.6.1 without any tweaking. Created a misc destination point to fax tone, enabled fax in one of my did inbound route and pointing to misc destination. So far it has been working without a problem.
