Public Access would be a

Public Access would be a really good thing. I can tell you with our (FreePBX) public access on FreePBX.org we get a lot of input from the community as well as contributions as they can see changes that are made instantly and/or subscribe to XML feeds to see all changes, tickets, etc. instantly. See http://freepbx.org/trac/timeline

I agree FreePBX probably

I agree FreePBX probably gets considerable more community development by having an API and an open SVN

Obviously its not open commits but allows people to easily rewrite and submit patches which are moderated by various trusted community members.

New developers are given

New developers are given commit access in a similar manner to other Open Source projects. Once they show interest by getting active in the project, provide bug fixes or other contributions that are evaluated over a period of time, and show that they have a good grasp of things and are providing quality work, then they are offered commit access. There are quite a few developers who have commit access to FreePBX, but in projects like this, some of them come and go so they are not necessarily active any longer.

Although we have had a very

Although we have had a very small number (count them on one hand) of requests for SVN access, nobody has even contributed more than a few lines of bug fixes. If we get people that really want to help out and make the product better, we are certainly open to the idea of helping to get people involved.

As ocsobf posted in another

As ocsobf posted in another thread...

Quote:
Trixbox CE isn't really set up for community development.
There is no OPEN code base in the form of a cvs or svn to debug, rewrite, add on to.
NO API at the trixbox level
No code submission guidelines
No Coding Standards.
None of the stuff a community project needs to be community developed...

Honestly, unless the above are put in place you will most likely get little, if any, development input from the community.

- There is an SVN

- There is an SVN repository
- There is no API needed for the trixbox dashboard, modules are individual components and we have same modules
- I could use help with code submission guides and coding standards documents

Spending time on this will be take time away from something else for me to get this running so I really want to know that there are people willing to participate in development before committing to the time to implement all these.
