Hi,

When installing on a system with more than one hard drive, the default installation does not ask which drive trixbox should be installed on. This is somewhat dangerous.

I know there is a warning saying the system will be reformatted, but it wuold be helpful if it said something like "If you wish to specify which drive trixbox will be installed on, or a custom partioning scheme you must select an advanced install".

I was expecting it so reformat the system drive, but I was gobsmacked to see it start formatting my data drive without asking me which drive to install onto.

Thanks,

Tim

I think the warning on the

I think the warning on the installation screen is pretty clear, but I can see you have a valid request.... On the other hand, what were you going to store on the data partition? Were you thinking of running something else on that box?

I was upgrading from trixbox

I was upgrading from trixbox 2.2 to the latest which requires a reinstall. My data drive had 6 months worth of call recordings from my call-centre on it (190,000 calls) and the MySQL databases. I'd intentionally moved these off my system drive thinking they would be safe.

I've never before in my life installed an operating system without being given a choice about where it was to be installed. I'll be more careful next time!

Fortunately it had only just started formatting my data drive and it looks like I can recover most of my recordings!
