Some of my thoughts...

When looking at a presence solutions, one of the major pluses as well as a potential show stopper is the Asterisk Manager Interface. I would look to see a robust and versatile irc type AMI proxy. One that will allow generic manager commands, but also be tuned as a presence engine allowing large communities to receive push updates. It would need a user level interface so roles can be defined for both administrators and users. This would be the base of a trixbox presence offering as well as a reliable interface for any future development or customer integration.

I know both FOP and hudlite use this type a technology today, but I ask how many proxies should be running? If I look to create any solution today, I would need to create yet another proxy, because the others have been customized for their use leaving any future development to either settle for the function they offer or create a new one.
