Freepbx extensions not written in config file

I just installed tribox. It's for experimenting VOIP.
Had AAH installed for a few days. Same problem.
Somehow the changes using "Freepbx add an extension" doesn't work.
When I edit the config files and add the numbers in extension and sip additional.conf I can get soft sip phones registered and call each other.

How can I let freepbx do the work?

On the top of the screen you find a notice in red with something like "apply changes" or so. Click on that red bar and the changes will be saved.

don't edit anything except the _custom.conf files by hand, and don't add any sip_custom.conf extension definitions if you have defined any sip trunks with a register statment.

Re: Freepbx extensions not written in config file

how would you add an extension to the file, would you give me an example? Lets say that I have sip extension 200, a fxo card configured connected to a pstn line wich could be 0000000000. When I dial the pstn number I get a message that says that the number has been disconnected.

How and where do you enter this information, I was just about ready to start editin the extensions.conf file and I found your post saying not to edit this file.

Thank you very much.

use freepbx and add your extensions and trunks there. You can do most anything you want through the gui. If you start adding things manually (in the _custom.conf files) you will want to make sure to have some understanding of how the freepbx dialplan works to keep from strange or unexpected behaviors.

 Got it. I completely overlooked the red bar at the top.

Thanks for your reactions.
