Low Call Volume

I have continued to experience very low call volume with my CEROS trixbox setup (Trixbox 2.2). It has a SANGOMA A200 with onboard hardware cancellor installed.

Call volume on internal calls is perfectly clear and loud. But when I place a call or receive a call on a trunk line the all volume is very low. (no echo, just low sound).

I have tried diffrent phones (polycom IP550, Astra) all do the same. I have adjusted the rx/tx gains but I cannot raise them high enough without causing static or echo in the line to do any good.

Any ideas on what else could be causing low call volume?

(Are there any logs that I can look at that would be helpful in troubleshooting?)

Thanks!

Also have low call volume

I also have low call volume on external calls using trixbox 2.6.02, A200 Sangoma FXO card. Internal calls are fine.

Also looking for a solution.

IndianaIronButt, Do you have

IndianaIronButt,

Do you have a CEROS box?

I contacted Sangoma support and they said the first thing they noticed is that my controller is really old:

"I noticed that you are using an old interrupt controller. The XT-PIC interrupt controller is an old, generic controller. I recommend that you try to get the system to use the IOAPIC interrupt controller. "

I am still trying to get my system to use the IOAPIC as the steps they listed did not initially work. Waiting to hear back.

But anyway, curious if you have the same kind of hardware?

The sangoma team had me

The sangoma team had me disable my hardware echo cancellor and that did get the volume noticeably louder and I can better control it with the rxgain.

However, now I have a lot of problems with echo.

Still working with them on the fix.

Low Voume

No CEROS box.

I was getting overruns which made the audio terrible. The instructions Sangoma provided worked and the overruns went away. If you still have not gotten the IOAPIC interrupt controller working let me know and I will provide the instructions that worked for me.
