Monitoring Call Parked Calls
I have a client who wants something similar to their shared line appearance. I've deployed a collection of Polycom 550s. What I have in mind is to have them park the call, then program 2 line buttons to quick dial the parked call extension (i.e. 71 and 72). What I would like to know is if it is possible to have the red light come on when theres somebody in these rooms? I've tried the watch buddy "on" but that doesn't seem to work...
I have this working with the SNOM phones. The 220's are dirt cheap on eBay, around $50.00. They sound great and have buttons that can be programmed with what are called hints. Hints can be busy status of an extension or parking lot.
The SNOM 360's are very nice and have more of these "line appearance" buttons with LED's. They also are heavier, feel more substantial and have a larger display. For the same price you can get an Aastra 57i.
If you want something totally trick the Aastra 57i has a large display that you can browse the parking lot and retrieve parked calls. This is an awesome phone.
I have never gotten parking lot hints to work correctly on the Polycom, others claim to have, however they have not shared their configurations.
Good luck
Scott
