polycom ip 501 reset

I tried the reset with 4,6,8,* and the phone resets but it will just reboot to the app=sip.ip . I can't seem to get past this point. I locked it up on my first trial and error session. 2 other phones programed OK afterwords .I am out of my league on this but could use some advice on this

What version of software and bootrom?

If you are running 2.2 and/or 4.0 bootrom or higher turn of VLAN filtering on the phone advanced UI menu and see if it boots.

Also after that try to set a static IP and see if the phone comes up.

Phil J. Thank you for getting back to me. The phone has bootrom 2.6.1.0003 and App version 1.4.1.0040 The trixbox as far as I can tell has Apache 2.0.52 . The other phones found the ip address from the trixbox automatically. this phone found a address of 192.168.000.109 in the beginning and that is what I keep putting in . I thing I must of messed up something up in the phones program when I was messing with it. I Tried your suggestions with no avail. If I need to do something in the trixbox I will haft to get help from my IT guy or someone to help with that.
