I found a very good step by step instructions of software raid for trixbox 2.2 at http://www.trixbox.org/forums/trixbox-forums/help/raid1-raid01-ho...
I also see a package: tbm-raid.

I would like to have software raid with trixbox 2.6. I'm wondering should I following the above instructions or should I download package: tbm-raid?

Thanks,

tbm-raid

You need to download tbm-raid package through package manager or
go to the command line type:

yum install tbm-backup.

After that it will be available in TB GUI under System menu.

Thank you for your

Thank you for your reply.

That means I don't need to do anything when I install tb. After the installation I get tbm-taid package. And then through System menu setup raid1. Is this right?

thanks,

by default

when you install the TB it does not have this package. All you need is

yum install tbm-raid

Actually it is just monitoring utility.

To actually setup software raid you need to type "sataraid" when you install TB from ISO

Thank you for the help. But,

Thank you for the help. But, I installed tb 2.6.0.7 a few times. I didn't notice where I can type in "sataraid". Please let me know in which step I should type in "sataraid".

Thank you very much.

When you're booting off the

When you're booting off the install CD, there is (if memory serves) a "syslinux:" prompt or something. Usually you press "enter" to install, but if you read the screen there, it gives you some options. I'm not entirely sure if "sataraid" is one of them, but you can type either (again, sorry for the fuzzy memory) "sataraid" or "linux sataraid" at that prompt and it will install in SATA RAID mode.

HTH.
