System uptime versus Asterisk uptime

Shouldn't the system uptime and asterisk up time be in sync? I was working on a clients system from home last night and did a reboot when finished. The uptime listed in FreePbx shows
System uptime: 13 hrs 54 min
Asterisk uptime: 9 hrs 55 min
Last reload: 0 min

Would this indicate that Asterisk is rebooting by itself?

If you did a reboot, they should only be out of sync by a few seconds. But you can certainly stop and restart asterisk and end up with a dramatic difference.

Do you have any core dumps

Do you have any core dumps that could indicate that asterisk has crashed and restarted?
