Is there a problem with the latest FreePBX?

I have a brand spankin' new server.

I install TB 2.4.0, and Yum update it. I install all of the updated FreePBX modules.

Everything works fine till I go to add an extension.

I click submit for the Generic SIP device, and the entire thing hangs. Then after 2 minutes, I get a black page.

All other FreePBX functions appear to be working, but naturally that's no consolation when you can't add an extension.

I read the entire Don't YUM Update your system, but that appeared to be resolved. Is this NOT the case?

I had the same, seems to be a corrupt install

As it is only a test machine, I could just reinstall tb, so if you can do that, try it

Strangely enough a 2.4.2 ISO install works flawlessly

So no doubt there is still a problem with the updates via yum.

I'm beginning the hate yum update for Trixbox. I've been burned almost twice as many times as not.

I guess it's true... if it ain't broke, don't upgrade it. :-)

Same issue here. Reinstall

Same issue here. Reinstall freepbx and it'll do the job. Just "upgrade" from freepbx 2.3 to freepbx 2.3. Use the website's instructions

Seems like the issue is

Seems like the issue is isolated to something in TB/package manager - no reports of any issues outside of TB with FreePBX here (in addition to the fact that 2.3, which is what TB installs, has remained more or less unchanged for a long time).

All the FreePBX package does

All the FreePBX package does is run install_amp so unless something went wrong during that there is no difference between that and doing it yourself. You can use the package manager to uninstall it and then reinstall it if you suspect the install went bad.

Try enabling voicemail when defining the extension. You can disable after you have defined the extension. It worked for me.

Same here

I saw this yesterday when I went to do a fresh install of 2.4.2. Gave up and stayed with my current config.

i managed to resolve it

I got my voicemail back after figuring what is wrong. Before that, I search for the vm_general.inc & vm_email.inc file on the net, to compare the settings.

goto http://www.freepbx.org/trac/browser/freepbx/trunk/amp_conf/astetc...
Look for the vm_email.inc & vm_general.inc file

Open another IE/firefox browser, and Login to Admin mode of the trixbox, under the Asterisk --> ConfigEdit

Make sure you copy the configuration from vm_email.inc & vm_general.inc to the /etc/asterisk/vm_general.inc and vm_email.inc

Followby, I went to the Admin Mode, Packages and check the delete box and delete freepbx 2.4 packages. After that I restart the Trixbox, and goto the Admin Mode again, Packages and tick Install on freepbx 2.4.0.1 packages.

Viola... it work.. I am able to get into voicemail.
