Trixbox 2.4.2.0 ISO install broken

After doing a yum -y update ( owner wanted a few extras) the 2.2 installation became unusable
1) the door phone needed FX_LS to detect things and was now broken, no matter what settings etc to zaptel and so forth
2) outgoing calls would not use any zap channels to PSTN network
3) it was difficult to keep asterisk running as changes made it crash
This morning, installed iso 2.4.2.0 and did an update. installed hudlite.
I notice now that the package manager says that the username and password is wrong, i've been using it for a year.
the zap interfaces will show up calls, but wont dial out. If you receive a call there is no audio.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
