Upgrade to Asterisk 1.4 on Trix 2.2
If you are willing to "Un-Trix" your Trixbox, you can google "Un-Trix your Trixbox" and there are several articles that will lay out the process - It works fairly well, but if you wan't Asterisk 1.4, it would be simpler (and you could get better support) to just back up the existing box, load 2.4 on it, and then restore the backups to the box - FreePBX (where almost all the configuration is) can move freely between versions - Just do a backup and get everything, and then restore it, and you are on the new box.
2.4 has a few problems and 2.6 is still beta - unless you have an urgent need, I would wait for 2.6 to stablilze and then take this route - but there are a lot of different ways to ge - it mostly depends on your skill level.

Yes, my app does a couple odd things on MySQL5.
That's my issue. I want Asterisk 1.4, and MySQL 4. I've taken the 2.2 version of trix and now trying to use http://www.freepbx.org/2006/09/28/un-trixbox-your-trixbox/ so that I can upgrade it to 1.4, I think that should get me where I need to be.
Funny - there used to be options to upgrade to MySQL 5, or Asterisk 1.4 in Packages ... but no more. :(
Folks
I also need to upgrade from * 1.2 to 1.4. The reason being the DTMF that is broken on 1.2.
So, I understand there is no path to upgrade automatically? I need to backup, install the new version and then restore? Is that the only way?
Also, you mention that Trixbox 2.4 has a few problems. Is there any place where I can read a list of the most important ones?
Thanks for any info.
