Upgrading from 2.2.2 to 2.6.1 via hard drive change

Hi, I want to "upgrade" our server from 2.2.2 to 2.6.1, but plan on doing so by changing out the existing hard drive with a spare and starting from scratch. This way, I have a solid fall-back position in case there are any insurmountable hiccups.

Is there a way to transfer my settings, custom prompts, extension info. etc. between these versions, for if I understand correctly, there have been some significant changes between these two particular versions, or will I just have to build from step one? I would appreciate any help given.

Thanks,
Henry

Did one today --

Henry,

Did one today...

TARed moved and restored /tftpbootp

Manually Copied sip_nat.conf and hud/users.xml. Pulled custom sounds and then added them from the Workstation via the GUI upload.

Used new Batch import to add basic extensions. Then cleaned them up with GUI.

Used Call Flow Document to build Time, IVR, Ring Groups, etcetera.

Added Trunks and Inbound Routes.

Set passwords.. moved the ethernet cable and we were up again.

Your mileage may vary.

Good Luck..

Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I'm heading into the office tomorrow morning to rebuild the box and this helps.

?

Thanks for pointing me to this thread phonebuff. However, I'm definitely not an expert with this software so your howto seems a bit vague. Can you provide more detailed descriptions of the work you performed?

jeenam, Sorry but if this

jeenam,

Sorry but if this is confusing to you, reach out to your local Asterisk users group or find a local consultant who can help as these are all basic unix type things, and I really don't have the time to do a detail how to on the procedure.

Good Luck..
