CID (Number and Name) with IAX providers

I have recently added voicestreet IAX DID service to trixbox 2.4 and all is great with the exception of not getting caller name. I get CID number with no issues. I have contacted voicstreet (and they answered the phone by the way) and they said that they deliver what ever the carrier hands off to them. With that being said I looked at the inbound route and found an entry for a CID name lookup services I have not provisioned the lookup service. I am not sure who might provide this service nor is it clear to me how I might configure it. I tried adding the google reverse number lookup -- but, when I had that configured the calls do not make it thru trixbox (they arrive I can see them in panel) but are not delivered to the extension -- I assume it is because the lookup has failed. By the way CID (name and number) work from local extension and ZAP analog trunks with no issues at all.

If anybody has this working and can help I would be most grateful.

Happy holidays to all!!!

Well, I think that this

Well, I think that this tells us that your current carrier is receiving caller ID info from a PRI or other digital circuit and are not doing any kind of name lookup themselves. PRI, T1, etc. circuits only receive Caller ID number unless the subscriber specifically tells their carrier that they want Caller ID name. You can verify this by getting a cell phone and calling one of your DIDs and then calling a land line from another carrier.

As far as using Google lookup, I tried it and it made all of my incoming phone calls "sluggish" since every time a call came it, it had to do the lookup through Google's server. This means that at any given time, if I receive a phone call and Google's service is being slow, my calls are hampered. I think they updated the lookup code some time ago to make it time out after so many seconds if there is no reply but still ... I'd rather just have no caller ID name than no information at all....

I know this hasn't been

I know this hasn't been replied to in almost two months, but I was just curious to know if my answer was correct.
