contribute to the wiki
The wiki is doing a lot better now, but a lot of content still could use some help. I converted a lot of it from bb code to media wiki code so its easier to edit and more features, look at the "Input Format" at the bottom when editing.
These areas could really be helpful with a bit more content:
Hardware Support
CE Tutorials
Troubleshooting
Additional Scripts and Tricks
Please try not to put content on the main wiki page as it starts to get really cluttered and unreadable fast -Just my opinion, but if at all, just important temporary issues deserve space there, to be relocated later in time once such issues have been resolved or are well known, or main categories.
Here is a guide on using the wiki: http://www.trixbox.org/node/26877
This is one important area in which trixbox needs a lot of work, and really if we want the dev guys to crank out code day and night, this is where we can help them. If you mess something up, let someone know so that it can be reversed before its too late, this is what broke the wiki last time - someone blew out pages and didnt tell anyone.
Cheers all-
I think "Common trixbox CE issues" should be merged with the FAQ. That's what a FAQ is for, and would streamline the main page. There's shouldn't be two places a person should have to go for common questions. The FAQ could be split into categories like "Project FAQ," "Hardware FAQ," and "Software FAQ" (for example, offer better suggestions.)
There should also be a FAQ index with just the FAQ questions being a link to the question/answer pair, like most other FAQ lists out there.
Agree? Disagree?
I'm going to be doing some stuff with Trixbox for small businesses in the very near future, and will attempt to document some of the scenarios I run across. I have to document all of the systems thoroughly for support purposes, so I should be able to transition some of that information over to the wiki if it looks like it will help.
