GSM Gateway help

I am not able to "HOP OFF" with this network scenario. So basically the GS ATA/Gateway is connected to the tellular and asterisk account is created and registered. But when i call the GSM phone number the device is connecting to the gateway and there is a "Hop off" but when i try to enter the phone number to dial thru, there is no numbers going thru, the dialtone sound is there continuously even when i enter any digit and then it disconnects after sometime.
Can any of you help me with this?
