Server Specs

I just wanted to get a discussion going about general performance specs. I have been using trixbox and pbx-in-a-flash at home for a couple of years now. I have also set up a trixbox machine at work for conferencing and just playing around but I have never worked on any really big installs. My question is really a couple of parts:

When is more then one trixbox server necessary, i.e. how many concurrent calls is just too much for a single server assuming a good top of the line server (say duel quad core processor, 4gigs ram, good motherboard fast FSB, fast SAS or SCSI hard drives, etc)?

What is more important processing power, memory or something else?

Has anyone tried the Digium TC400B cards which move some of the codec processing to the card instead of the CPU?

Thanks,

Well much of my question was

Well much of my question was answered when I was listening to some back broadcasts of voip users community conference on May 30th of this year. They had a guy on that is involved with large installs and was very interesting. You can find it on itunes or at http://food4wine.com/ (I don't know what the deal with their domain name is, I'm guessing the host has a variety of interests in life.)
