trixbox Administration training - what do you learn?
Every few days I am going to post another little tidbit pulled from the administration training to help explain some of the things that you will learn by attending the training program.
Basic Linux troubleshooting
Did you know about the MTR utility? Using MTR you can help troubleshoot packetloss and jitter on your VOIP connections. To use this tool, use the same syntax as a ping command, e.g. mtr inbound3.vitelity.net
During the class we show some of the different options and settings to help make using the mtr tool and ping tools more effecient in troubleshooting your VOIP connections.
When should I use a ring group versus a Queue?
Rings groups are best used when there are more peope available to answer the phone than you have calls coming in. Queues are best used when you have peak times when there are more callers than there are people available to answer the phone.
We cover all of the different options like these in the classes as well as all of the configuration options for each feature.
How do I sell trixbox systems against other platforms?
Positioning against other big names can be a difficult challenge if you don't know how those systems are quoted or how the features stack up against trixbox based systems.
On the first night of the training we have an optional dinner presentation that will help you position trixbox systems against other products, how to market your systems, and how to become more successfull in selling trixbox systems. This is a free add-on to both the Admin and the Tech class.
