trixbox backup or FreePBX backup?

there are two places we can do backup/restore:
1. trixbox backup, you get from system menu. It's installed from packages.
2. FreePBX backup, you get in Tools tab on FreePBX page. It's installed from Module Admin.

Seems like 2 has some problems. It works for some people but don't work for others. There are a couple of solutions posted. But the solutions don't work for all cases. For example, one solutions involves a cp command. We don't even have the directory of cp from.

However 1 seems work well.

Why we have two places for backup?
Which backup is recommended?
