Got TiVo?

You may be glad to know that I found a configuration that works reliably for the daily call!

I'm using a Linksys PAP2T-NA analog line adapter. I just registered it as an extension on my Trixbox with all the defaults, nothing fancy.

I'm using Vitelity for my outbound SIP trunk.

I think the key to this working is a feature on the Linksys PAP2T-NA. When you dial the feature code *99, it activates a "modem line" feature. I don't know what this does exactly, but it's like magic. I can send faxes this way reliably too.

On the TiVo phone settings:

Dial-in number: xxx-xxxx
Dial prefix: ,#104
Call waiting prefix: *99
Tone/pulse: Tone
Phone avail detection: off
Dial tone detection: on

I don't know what the ,#104 is all about, maybe it tells the TiVo to use a slower speed or something. Whatever it is, this combination definitely works!

Cheers,
Glupidio

How about on a Cisco ATA186?

Has anyone had any success in getting Tivo to connect using a Cisco ATA186? I've tried these settings along with dozens of other settings found while googling around with no success ...
