Cisco 7912 registration
Hello -
I picked up a few Cisco 7912's to use in spare bedrooms and the basement at the house. I have flashed the phones with SIP 8.01 code.
Several posts indicate other users have provisioned these phones successfully. I have tried every combination of NAT and qualify and they still won't register. Strangely I can place calls.
If I do a SIP show peers the UA is not registered.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks....Scott

If anybody cares I found he simple way and he hard way to do this. In the voip-info Wiki on the phone it indicates you have to use the software tool to "compile" the config to binary then place it in your tftp directory. You can do this if you wish to have the phones provisioned from the server. My problem was the subscribe bit is set to 0 by default when you flash from SCCP to SIP. The Bitname is SIPRegOn and must be set to 1
However if you only have a few to get working, just boot the phone up, find your IP under network settings and point your web browser to the phone. Default password is 1234.
Upgrading to SIP is dirt simple, just unzip the files to /tftpboot on your trixbox and reboot the phone! No config file editing is required as on other model Cisco phones.
These are great single line high quality phones for extra rooms, shows etc. You can find them for a song on eBay.
