Using multiple Cisco phones on the same extension number
does anyone know if this is possible?
i want to use 2 x 7970G's on the same extension number yet when i configure them with this only 1 phone rings when the extension is dialed. it seems which ever phone was booted up more recently seems to 'take over' the extension number and become the only that rings.
can anyone assist with this?
many thanks
It is only possible if you switch FreePBX to users and devices mode, otherwise you will experience the problem you are having.

Make 2 separate extensions with separate numbers.
In the extension setup page, about halfway down the config page where it says "dial" and it says something like "SIP/112" (assuming extension 112) just ad an & and whatever other extension(s) you want to ring.
For instance, to ring 112 and 113 put "SIP/112&SIP/113" (without the quotes of course) in the "dial" box. Not sure how many you can string together but it's a lot. First extension to answer gets the call.
Do this for the other extension as well and your done.
