Force ULAW on 2 Lines Only

I have a 8 line SIP trunk configuration from my provider. 6 lines are dedicated to voice, 2 are set to uncompressed for data testing purposes.

I am curious how I can force the voice lines to use the g729 codec. If I add the allow=ulaw to the configuration for the trunk... the voice lines by default use the ulaw codec (regardless of the order in which I place them in the config).

Any ideas?

You cant What you can do

You cant
What you can do though is take the PEER Details from the original trunk, make a new sip trunk, set the outbound caller ID and trunk name, paste the PEER Details, and LEAVE THE "REGISTRATION" FIELD BLANK

After doing that, change allow=g729 to allow=ulaw for that trunk

Now make an outbound route and give it a prefix so that calls with the 9 prefix would use this trunk
Dial plan:
9|1NXXNXXXXXX
9|011.

Trunk sequence- put your new ulaw trunk here

Make sure though that you can make calls from both trunks at the same time
Every provider is different
I have success with vitelity (I do something similar to what you are doing)
