Seriously weird problem. TDM400 4 FXO
Ok, so yet another trixbox install. Trixbox 2.6. Very nice Proliant ML370. Everything went well during install. After install TDM400 card recognised, and all was well. I configured the outbound routes to test the TDM400 card. As I was in a room with no phone lines, I plugged in a GSM terminal to the FXO port of the Card. All was good, dialed nicely, voice was good, no problems. Repeated this and tested all 4 FXO ports. Each tested sucessfully with the GSM gateway.
So, put machine in rack, connected to telephone lines, made a call, and got silence. Couldn't understand. Checked everything was ok after reboot. dmesg ok, card recognised. Asterisk picks up the zap channels fine. Changed pots cable, thought maybe that was the problem.
Nope, it wasn't. So plugged in GSM terminal to the FXO ports and all was ok, on all 4 FXO channels.
Yep Zapata is configured for uk ( it says so ), and in any event, it works through the GSM terminal. So it's clear both the card works, and so does my GSM terminal, and that i have configured outbound routes etc correctly. (I'm not that much of a newbie anyway, have installed this around 15 times)
So, clearly the following can be observed:
1. TDM400 works. It dials on all four ports.
2. Configured and recognised correctly.
3. Outbound routes configured correctly.
4. POTS lines tested with test phone. ALL ok.
5. Cables checked. Replaced, No help.
6. No errors reported in any logs, or anything even remotley weird.
So, it comes down to this. The machine won't communicated with BT lines, but does with a GSM Gateway. I can't figure this one out! I have machines identical to this one both above and below it in the rack. So not a EM noise issue. No hardware conflicts of any kind.
HELP!!!
Hi, as above, the logs should point you in the right direction, but I've had the same problem before and the logs didn't help much. My problem was the wrong type of cable, gave me some really weird problems. I always use rj45 (tdm400 card )to rj11 cable flipped with rj11 to bt adapter, always works perfectly. Can't really see it being much else as your config works with GSM. We have several systems working on customer sites in the UK with this setup.

Paul
Hi everyone,
I also have the problem installing and configuring the Sangoma A200-BRMD card. I'm using the versions
Trixbox2.2.5
FreePBX 2.3.1.0
This is what Asterisk Info page shows in the:
Zaptel Driver Info:
"Chan Extension Context Language MusicOnHold pseudo from-zaptel en
Verbosity is at least 1"
I'm a novice in this new world of telephony, and what I think is that the card is not installed/configured correctly.
At the asterisk command prompt I run among many commands: rebuild_zaptel
genzaptel conf
ztcfg
and with "zttool" command it says unconfigured, with "dmseg" command it doesn't show anything about the card (Sangoma A200-BRMD)
in the "zapata-auto.conf" all I have is:
<
; Autogenerated by /usr/local/sbin/genzaptelconf -- do not hand edit
; Zaptel Channels Configurations (zapata.conf)
;
; This is not intended to be a complete zapata.conf. Rather, it is intended
; to be #include-d by /etc/zapata.conf that will include the global settings
;
callerid=asreceived
; Span 1: ZTDUMMY/1 "ZTDUMMY/1 1"
>
In the "zapata.conf "
All I have is :
<
;
; Zapata telephony interface

; Configuration file
[trunkgroups]
[channels]
language=en
context=from-zaptel
signalling=fxs_ks
rxwink=300 ; Atlas seems to use long (250ms) winks

Any help on what is going on and how to resolve it will be highly appreciated, I'm a newbie but very eager to learn.
Many thanks to those participating in this forum, I've so far learnt a lot from you guys.
I'm getting something similar with [2.6.1-rc1], incoming calls are fine, but outgoing calls get
-- Called 2/1978664xxxx
-- Hungup 'Zap/2-1'
== Everyone Is Busy/congested at this time (1:0/0/1)
then Alison sez "All circuits are busy..."
Note that there's no delay while it attempts to grab the outgoing line or anything, just immediate "All Circuits busy".
Strangely, this works fine with a Comcast POTS box, but not with a Verizon POTS line. We had Verizon out to cleanup some noise on the line, and it's completely quiet now.
[We need to get rid of the Comcast box, as it's no good for faxes...]
Any idea what the difference between "real" POTS lines and "fake" (from Comcast boxes or GSM boxes as above) might be?
Hi everyone,
I'm happy to announce that the problem I had posted earlier with installing/configuring the Sangoma A200-BRMD card has been solved. I just had to install some Sangoma Trixbox modules and that was it, it worked . Many thanks to all of you.
However I have another one,
When calling from outside using the Zaptel Trunk I can reach the IVR but can't dial the IVR options using the GSM cellular phone, but with CDMA cellular phone it works as ! I think that this has something to do with DTMF.
So,how I can get the GSM cellular phone working as it should with the IVR is still a mystery to me.
The other problem I'm having even with CDMA cellular phone is that instead of going straight to the IVR when I call, it first rings for a few seconds and then the IVR announcements are heard.
I'm running:
Trixbox2.2.5
FreePBX 2.3.1.0
with a Sangoma A200-BRMD card.
