Hi,

I have tried everything to get the HUD clients to connect to the HUDlite server but it does not work. I have checked everything in the HUD faq and rebooted the server. I have tried both remote and local settings and changed users and passwords. Nothing works.

The server number is 112957 if anyone can check it out for me it would be much appreciated.

Hey Gasmanz, I took a look

Hey Gasmanz,

I took a look at your server and don't see anything wrong with the HUD server, which is accepting connections. This leads me to believe that there may be some issues with the HUD Client configuration or a firewall blocking the HUD Client from reaching the server.

Can you confirm a few things for me:

Are you connected locally on the same subnet as the trixbox?
What Operating System is your HUD Client installed on?
Have you tried disabling any firewall software on your HUD Client's computer?
Are there any other IRC servers running on your network?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

I am having the same

I am having the same problem. I can't connect internally to the HUD server. I am running windows. It should not go thru the firewall internally.

My server ID is 118178

Hi Michael,

I just checked out your server and all of the hudlite backend is running fine. Are you sure you have your clients pointed to the server properly?

Thanks,
Mike

I have tried everything I

I have tried everything I can for 4 days now.

web username is mo200
web pass 200

I just can't figure out how to set it up. I have done this a hundred times but cant get HUD at my house. It's a test station. I have read everything. Some places it say's that if the user name and password are right then it will auto fill the advanced settings.

I tried putting s118178.trixbox.fonality.com as the server and I assume the server password is the same as the one I use to login as the trixbox Pro admin to set up the system.

I feel like such a dolt.

Any Ideas.

I tried changeing the user name and pass I added another extension , I checked to make sure that the In HUD is checked, I pointed the server to the internal IP address. I tried using the root password of the server. I have tried all CAPS. My pass and Name is in all lower case. Oh and I tried my laptop as well as my desktop and my wifes desktop. I have the DNS pointing to the trixbox Pro server IP.

WOW I am going mad figuring this one out.

Please Help.

Hey Michael,

This is incorrect. The server name for your case would be 's118178.trixbox.fonality.com' and the 'server password' is unique for your server. You can see it by looking at the ps output on your system.

> [root@trixbox****** ~]# ps aux | grep hudlit
> root 3617 0.0 10.0 55044 49944 ? SNs Mar27 5:44 ./hudlite-server [password]
> [root@trixbox****** ~]#

Thanks,
Mike

MichaelI saw that was a

I mistyped the server. I did have s118178.trixbox.fonality.com.

That worked thanks. It was the HUD password all along. Is that the usual way to retrieve the HUD password? I do not know how I missed that. I am use to CE so it seems alot different. Seriously how come what you just told me is not in any how-to who would know that the password can only be retrieved using using linux commands.

Again Mike you rule thank you for your help. I will be able to sleep tonight.

Tere is no mention of the server password or how to retrieve it using the method you described. I think you should add that.

Thanks for a great FAQ, Mike! I also need to retrieve my HUD pw.
First, I've got a silly question - How do I retrieve my SSH user/pw? Should I be logging in as Root? I've tried everything I can think of.

The "documentation" email i received with my trixbox appliance didn't have the right server number on it. Mine is 119280 and the user/pw I received was for 119746. Maybe thats why I'm missing something?

Hey Mr. Ninja, You will need

Hey Mr. Ninja,

You will need to set the root password first before you will be able to connect to the PBXtra via SSH. In order to set the root password you will need to login to the console with teh following credentials:

username: ip
password: ip

Once logged in you will see a menu of options. One of the options is "Set Root Password". Once the root password is set you will be able to connect to your trixbox Pro system.

Cheers!
Mike
