HUD dialing out or ext problems

does anyone know this? i can't dial out or dial extensions. when i try to dial, it doesn't give me any error messages except a small rollover message:
"My Device - DEV/NULL"
it doesn't give me any other clues. the HUD client is connecting to the server and we are able to chat back and forth, but no calls.

i'm running TB PRO SE appliance with HUDlite client. server 120735

i'm new to trixbox, so i'm hoping it's something simple. thanks for any help i can get.

Update

Ok i have a little more info, since i can't seem to stop working on this thing.

i can't login or register the trixbox softphone.
i can login on a portsip softphone, but when i dial it shuts down the program.
tried to connect my polycom 501, but when i dial out, i get a busy signal after 2 key presses.
and hud is still the same, logs in, can chat, but no calls.

my voip connection is good i can call into my server, navigate my call menus, check voice mail and all that stuff.

it seems like there is a lot of info on CE but not much on PRO SE
and the support tickets i have opened have been unanswered for 2 days now :(

Hey Scott,

I just read through your support ticket. I saw that Dominic was able to help you and helped you retrieve the server password, as well as set the port number required to connect to the HUD lite server (6600).

Was that able to solve your problem?

that was the first ticket and he got me connected, but after i got my voip trunk in, i setup another ticket for not being able to make any calls (#1018515)

i'm sure it's something fairly simple, since it seems as though the all the SIP clients i'm trying to dial out with are not connecting some how.

i did learn that the chat is done with an IRC server, so that would explain why chat works but not calling.

Mike,

I'd just like to take a minute to say thanks. I've had some good interaction with the trixbox staff. I've called in a couple of times and the people I've spoke to have been very helpful. I also find the entire forum very useful. The only improvements I would make would be more topics and info for TB Pro and maybe a little more details in the wiki. Thanks again to everyone who helps.
