HUD Pro as a Stand-Alone Product?

Are there any plans or even pipe dreams to make HUD Pro a stand-alone product?

We currently use Trixbox CE and will continue to do so because we need the ability to write custom dial plans because of the way our call centers work. However, we played with HUD Lite for a bit and love it, but we need some of the features of HUD Pro (like restrictions on who can spy on who, etc). After looking at other available GUI interfaces and contemplating writing our own, we still really just like HUD. We'd love to be able to buy it for our Trixbox CE system but we can't justify switching to Trixbox Pro just for a GUI.

Yes, it is a pipe dream. We

Yes, it is a pipe dream. We would love to do it but the permissions model would be very difficult to port to a generic asterisk install. We hope to figure out a way to do this soon and figure out how we could offer it.

Pro Call Center Edition would give you much more than just HUD, you would also get advanced Queue statistics, barging, monitoring, agent recording, remote agents, and much more.

I agree iSymphony works great...

I can't wait for them to release the linux client ... so customers who use linux desktops can use it!

HUD pro for trixbox CE will come

Hi there,

We plan to release HUD Pro for trixbox CE, and always have. We need to finish HUD 3.0 (new skin system that allows local language transfer) first.

We also are slowly adapting portions of HUD to work with native Asterisk (not as scalable as our hardened XML version of AsteriskManager, but so be it).

So, yes, it is in the plans. With over 500,000 lines of code in HUD, it is a pretty big project right so things take longer than I would like. ;(

HUD 3

Chris:
By any chance would you have an ETA for HUD 3? If so, would you be able to estimate when the stand-alone product could be released and sold? Also, do you think the pricing structure would be any different than HUD for fonality?

HUD3 is supposed to be

HUD3 is supposed to be released in Mid-June with HUDlite3 a month after that. We do not have a schedule for a stand-alone version of HUD3 (Non-Lite) at this time.

HUD3 written for both Pro and trixbox CE

HUD3 is being dual-architected for both the trixbox Pro hardened core and the trixbox CE more native core. This means a fully functioning version of HUD will be out for CE this year. We are pretty excited about it and will have more news in the next couple of months as we progress towards our alpha. HUD3 for Pro will come out before HUD3 for CE.

BTW, HUD3 is a huge upgrade to HUD2. It supports multi-site linking, multi-site barge/monitor record, SSL secure chat, Major real-time Queues feature, and much more. It is over 1 million lines of new code!

Any info on the minimum

Any info on the minimum requirements for HUD3 yet? Will I be able to put it on older systems I have out in the field, or will they need to be upgraded?

For instance, I'd love to link my Chicago and St. Louis sites with HUD, but I'm running CE 2.2 in Chicago. Will this be possible, or is HUD3 going hand in hand with newer versions of CE?

HUD3 linking will only be in

HUD3 linking will only be in trixbox Pro initially, next we will release a HUDLite that is similair in features to today's HUDlite but is basically a complete re-write. After that we hope to have a CE version of HUD "Pro" that will have more of the Pro features in it but we have not sat down to figure out what all we will be able to put into it without all of the Pro backend pieces.
