Is there a limit to how many extensions I can have assigned to one phone?

Next question, say I have a phone with extension 7000 and extension 7001. How would I set it up so the person who uses that phone would be able to call out using extension 7000 one time and ext 7001 the next? is this possible?

I'll use Aastra phones as an

I'll use Aastra phones as an example, because that's what I use and am most familiar with.

In that case, you'd just make each line key a separate extension. Pressing the L1 key would dial out on whatever extension is configured on L1, pressing L2, for line two, etc.

The 480i I have has four dedicated line keys, and I can program up to a total of 9 (I think) using the soft buttons.

Your phone, as stechnique mentioned, may be different.

So I went into the GUI and assigned extension 7003 to line 2, and now when I call out any line the caller id shows up as 7003 instead of 7000 when I use lines 1,3, or 4. Any ideas? I changed this under Advanced settings/Line 2/ and changed the screen name and the caller id name to 7003. Is this the right spot to make the changes?

trixbox Pro only creates

trixbox Pro only creates configuration files for one phone per extension. Having multiple lines like this is not supported.

Thanks,
Mike
