Dailing Issue

Hello,

I need to understand how Trixbox and Polycom Dailing plan is setup and what digimap takes precedence (Trixbox or Polycom digimap) when i dial numbers with the handset picked and when i dial without picking it up.

When i configure a Polycom 301/501 for Trixbox and reboot it, does Trixbox push a digimap to the phone or does the phone keep its existing digimap? If the Trixbox does indeed push a digimap to the phone, where do i find it in the server (/tftpboot/???) ??. And can i edit that digimap in Trixbox so it can be repushed to the phones?? Would that work for the Polycom 301 and 501's.

I am just having lots of issues dialing out locally, interstate, and internationally. Some Polycom phones (501) work fine but most of the 301's are having issues.

Any help would be appreciatted.

Thanks

flex, The configuration

flex,

The configuration files for your Polycom phones are located in /tftpboot/ on your trixbox Pro system. The dialing plans for the phones are configured automatically. However, the Dial Plans for the server are configured in the Options -> Dial Plan page of the trixbox Pro admin panel.

Thanks,
Mike

So why is it that i can make

So why is it that i can make a call from a Polycom 501 but cant make a call from a Polycom 301 to the same number (949-xxx-xxxx)? I can however call that number from the HUD accounts attached to both these phones. Does the HUD use a different dialing plan from the phones?

Thanks

Zeb, It sounds like the

Zeb,

It sounds like the Dialplans in your Polycom 301 are not configured in a way that would work for that dialplan. It should be noted that Polycom 301's are NOT tested and qualified by Fonality, so it doesn't surprise me that this sort of issue crops up. The dialplans used by the Model / Firmware model varies. We produce dialplans in the configurations for the versions that we test for. You might try fiddling with the dialplans on your Polycom 301 to see if you can find a dialplan that works for your needs.

Thanks,
Mike

but what dialplan takes

but what dialplan takes precedence? Trixbox's or the phone's? I see digimap entries in /tftpboot/sip.cfg and /tftpboot/mac-add-phone.cfg.

I guess i just need to know how the digimap works in Trixbox.

Thanks

Zeb, mac-add-phone.cfg is

Zeb,

mac-add-phone.cfg is just a template. /tftpboot/[MAC].cfg takes precedence over all others. Then comes the general configurations (aastra.cfg for Aastra, and sip.cfg eta all for Polycom).

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the response.

All i have in my mac.cfg is the following:

CONFIG_FILES="phone-0004f21052c6.cfg, sip.cfg, ipmid.cfg" MISC_FILES="" LOG_FILE_DIRECTORY=""

By looking at the mac.cfg, i am guessing that sip.cfg is what will be taking precedence for the digimap.

So if I blank out my digimap in the polycom and dial without picking up the handset, would it validate the digimap by looking it up in sip.conf since there is nothing in its own digimap?

Thanks Again
