Is this option available anywhere on TB Pro or maybe a work around? Here is what I'm trying to accomplish: The managers in my company all have desk phones. The rest of us work in the field so we have laptops with softphones. A couple of the managers were interested in being able to setup the softphone at their home and be able to log into it to use their extension. of course they would still like to have desk phones operational when ever they are in the office. I would like to find a way to do this. Other than having them call me 24/7 to login to the server and switch their device. Thanks for any help.

I don't know about pro...

But in CE with FreePBX it is called device and user mode. With that users can have their extension ring multiple devices.

mc, You can easily

mc,

You can easily accomplish this. trixbox Pro splits the idea of 'agents' and 'extensions'. You can log a given agent into ANY extension. To accomplish what you seek, do the following:

1. Log agent out of desk phone at work (*3)
2. Log IN agent at home-phone (*54) - you will be asked for "agent name" then "agent password" (if Queue password required is enabled). You will want to use the "agent name" of the desk phone at your office.

It should be noted that the original extension will no longer receive queue calls until the softphone has logged out.

Thanks,
Mike

missing something

ok here is what i did:

went to desk phone, pressed *3 (tb said "agent logged out")
went to softphone, pressed *54 (tb said "agent login... please enter agent# followed by#")
pressed 111# (tb said "agent logged in")
i was able to make out going phone calls, but incoming still went to the desk phone.

should i go into admin panel and unassign the device?
the user i'm trying move is at ext.111 and his username is 111ap
you mentioned logging the agent into any extension, what i need is to have the extension move with the user. is that the same thing?
also it didn't ask me for a password, but i don't have queues so i don't think it needs one.

thanks again for the help

Scott, It should be noted

Scott,

It should be noted that 'agents' only receive queue calls. Regular calls are not effected by logging in or out. FMFM forwarding will respect non-queue calls.

Thanks,
Mike
