howto create a vmware image of trixboxpro?

i've been using the vmware appliance of the ce version of trixbox for some time now.
i love the ability to quickly recover in case of a failure and backups using snapshot in vmware.
i tried to create a virtual machine using the trixbox pro downloaded iso image. however, when i load it, it bombs out with a pci error.
has anyone successfully loaded trixbox pro into vmware? can u pls share your experience?

Hello zeropegleg,
There is no trixbox Pro VMware image because Asterisk is very reliant upon timing and VMs cannot provide this.
You will notice that CE explicitly states:
Due to numerous timing issues under virtual machines, you should not attempt to use this as a production system.
If you'd like to continue to use this for testing purposes, you should include the exact PCI error you are receiving so that somebody might provide additional input.

I have been running trixbox Pro on VMware ESX for about eight or nine months now. I am running this at home with 5 other virtual machines on the same host. I did give the trixbox Pro VM a 400 Mhz CPU reservation so I did not run into any issues. The host is a HP DL380 G3 with 5 GB of RAM and dual 2.8. I did not get any errors on install and have not had any issues. I originally had installed this with ESX 3.0.2 and now have it running on ESX 3.5 without issues. The only thing I have noticed is that the voice playback on messages is not perfect. This really does not bother me though.
What version of VMware are you attempting to install this on? I have not tried this on the free version or GSX.
