I know theres a way to make a single directory push to all the phones with the CE - is there a way for me to just create a directory file (of internal users/extensions) the will populate the directory of our phones in the Pro Edition? We're using Aastra 480i, Poly IP 330 & IP 650's.

You could write a perl

You could write a perl script to do it but there is nothing built into Pro at this time to do it.

I know a few VAR's that

I know a few VAR's that build and sell this perl trickery. I think they sell it in the range of 500-1000 bucks. Try visi-at-gcinfotech-dot-com

Cheers!

Show Stopper

WOW! this is not supported? This is a major show stopper. Is there plans in the near future for a global directory?

What if you are set up to

What if you are set up to where a majority of your phones do not have PCs by them?

Tank, In that case, you are

Tank,

In that case, you are out of luck for using HUD.

Thanks,
Mike

Plans in the future

So is this a feature that is going to implemented in a future release? I am sure we are not the only people who have requested this.

Tank, This is not planned

Tank,

This is not planned for a future release. This is not a request that I see often. HUD typically exceeds the expectations of people who are used to a 'directory'.

As posted in another thread, generating a Polycom directory (for example) can be done with some quick perl trickery. The directory XML structure is well documented by Polycom.

Thanks,
Mike

Well, I would like to

Well, I would like to officially add my name to the list - this is a feature that's critical if you want to have phones in a break room, conference room, etc..

It seems silly that the consumer would have to PURCHASE this Perl Trickery you reference just to have a directory published or available on, what is likely, a phone with the capability to support it. (eg: Aastra 480i - a PLATINUM certified phone)
