Raid device questions
I have been trying for the past few days to set up a trixbox pro server. The mother board I selected needs the sata_nv module to handle the on board sata controler. For some reason trixbox pro 2.0 would not load it at install. Thinking this odd I loaded the most recent trixbox ce distro and everything went togeather very smoothly.
Is there a diffrence here?
Can CE be upgraded to Pro to resolve the issue?
Is there some sort of work around or hack to be used?
Would the easiest option be to purchase a seprate sata card. Is so, which one?
and, of course, will I ever run out of questions?
I would really perfer not to have to try and go back into the installation source and try to add modules or mess with anything fonality has done as this look like a pretty well put togeather package and I really don't want to make a mess of it.
Any help would be great...

Hi Wil,
Pro and CE use different installers and driver bases, the driver sets of CE is not inclusive of Pro. I would recommend using hardware that is known to work well with Pro. A current list can be found here:

Mike,
Thanks for your response. So, I purchased a SATA controller card and trixbox Pro installed with no problems. However, at first boot instead of the usual grub screen that allows the the selection of a kernel I get a command promt from grub. I can only assume that this is due to the fact that the controler card module is some how not being found. Any ideas as to what or what is happeneing here and any possible work arounds?
Thanks...
