Its Monday, and I come into phone that can't dial some numbers ... status messages that say errors parsing dialplan.. tftp errors.. now timeserver errors..

All after being upgraded to Trixbox 2.0 (I'm so glad that there was the option to upgrade at my leisure after all the bugs were worked out.....WAIT THERE WASN't)

So as usuall... I'm on the "Pay to wait 30 minutes to leave a message" where I'm told for quickest support (as if the paid obviously isn't fastest enough) I should contact them on the web via the support portal...

amazingly the support portal gives "Error Code 10060: Connection timeout" even though this website.. and the non-support website work just fine... Must be my internet connection only goes slow when the word support is in the title......

Does this sound like a rant of an annoyed person... yes it does.

p.s. I also had to pay for the phone call since my phones won't dial (888) 8anything.. at this point but they will dial your pay (310) number... how convienent you didn't have to pay for my hold time.

Terry, This is the world of

Terry,

This is the world of Hybrid-Hosted, this means when we roll upgrades there isn't much option for 'not' getting it. We plan on moving to a 'pull' model instead of a 'push' model but we are still very limited in the amount of latitude that we can give using hybrid-hosted. What I tell customers that are disturbed or concerned by this is that if they need the utmost control of their phone system, to use baked Asterisk or trixbox CE. There are no automated updates there. This is the 'safest' but most labor intensive route to go.

Thanks,
Mike

WOW

Your comment to a paying customer of your Call Center Edition is to stop paying you and use the free version as it the safest route I'm sure your marketing department will be happy to hear that.

Mike is just saying that if

Mike is just saying that if you want to be able to choose when you want upgrades we do not have a solution for you besides CE right now. The fact is, you have received numerous upgrades since your system went live and had no problems but this time, as has been mentioned in your other thread, you are now experiencing an issue with phones that are not supported by the product. I understand your frustration here in that you had them working before and after an upgrade they don't work, but again you are blaming Fonality for your choice of equipment and your choosing devices that are not on the supported product list. This is like installing a new scanner on your Windows XP system and then upgrading to Vista knowing that the scanner is not supported on Vista but then blaming Microsoft that the scanner isn't working anymore.

I wish I had something better to tell you at the moment but we simply can't provide promises that unsupported products will work all the time.
