Hi. Polycoms are supposed to be supported phones right? and they should get provisioned automatically? I have a polycom 500 which I tried to provision. I set the DNS to the IP of our CCE box. But after downloading app and rebooting i'm getting a config file error 0x4020. Now my phone just keeps rebooting and rebooting....

....please advice.

thanks

Hi bangsters, This could be

Hi bangsters,

This could be the firmware on the system. I believe the 500s actually have less memory and can't use the version of firmware released on trixbox Pro, but the 501s can.

Another possibility is that your phone is on the 3.x bootrom, however trixbox Pro ships with 2.x firmware and the Polycom will not downgrade to it. Let us know if this is the case.

Thanks,
Samy

bangsters, You can determine

bangsters,

You can determine what version of the bootrom your phone is running by doing the following:

  1. Press 'Menu'.
  • Select option '2' (Status).
  • Select option '1' (Platform).
  • Select option '1' (Phone).
  • Scroll down using the down arrow button to where it says 'Bootrom'.
  • To determine the firmware version the phone is running:

    1. Follow steps 1-3 above.
  • Select option '2' (Application).
  • Select option '1' (Main).
  • See the version string (for example, 1.6.4.0064).
  • Ben

    Keep in mind that IP500's

Keep in mind that IP500's are NOT supported. These are older models than the supported 501 series. It may try to but you will probably need to configure them manually.
