Aastra Telecom will soon be releasing a new software update for the 480i, 9133i, 9112i, and 480iCT IP phones.

Release 1.4.2 delivers various feature enhancements, including:

  1. XML support for virtual web servers and extra control over the text menu object
  2. Redial list improvements – accessible during a call and storing of “pause” keys
  3. The ability to use a speed dial key to send DTMF digits during a call
  4. Incoming calls no longer cause partially dialed numbers to be lost.

This release also resolves a number of issues, including:

  1. Fixed random crashes when connected to an Asterisk server, caused by out of dialog SIP messages
  2. Intercom calls no longer interrupt the active call on the phone placing it on hold
  3. Pressing the left cursor key no longer crashes the 480iCT phone
  4. A long dial plan with prepend entries doesn’t stop the phone booting anymore
  5. Fixed intermittent crash during auto-resync and XML reboots.

If you are interested in learning more about 1.4.2 and to beta test it, you can download the self-extracting firmware and beta release notes from

http://www.aastratelecom.com/downloads/beta_1-4-2.exe

Any feedback and support inquiries for the beta firmware should be submitted before April 20, 2007 via our beta email account at

Any news on this new firmware?

The link is dead, and I can't find it anywhere. Is it out of beta yet?

It sounds like it should fix at least 2 of the problems I'm getting nagged about!

Okay, so you must have some magically sense of timing!

Firmware version 1.4.2 for the 480i, 480iCT, 9112i & 9133i and version 2.0.2 for the 5i Series (53i, 55i, 57i & 57iCT) were released today.

Both versions are available to download from www.aastratelecom.com. Trixbox RPMs will be available shortly.

Actually, that was a bit premature. I've just put it on some phones on my production server and now they won't register.

Any obvious things that have changed that may cause this?
