HELP! forgot password, how to reset AAstra 480i
I have an Aastra 480i that I sold on ebay, the buyer is claiming that he can't access the phone because the standard login of UN: admin PW: 22222 doesn't work. I never changed the password, but regardless, is there any way to do a factory reset of the phone if you happen to forget the password?
The simplest way is to set a new password in the configuration files - if the new owner can get the phone to download a configuration file:
admin password: 22222
If it isn't already pointing to a TFTP server, but is setup for DHCP, configuring the DHCP server to send the tftp server address in Option 66, should make the phone point to their new TFTP server.
Failing, all that - I need to know the firmware version that the phone is currently running.
thanks for the reply, its running the newest firmware (which I believe is 1.4.2)
I forgot to wipe the config info before I sold the phone, I didn't think it was a big deal at the time as he could just reset it... and since he says he can't get into the phones options without the password, I don't think he can set a new tftp server to change the config files. (becuase its pointing to my old tftp server)
