XML Scripts on multiple subnets

Ok, might be as easy as some config file editing i suppose, but im not sure. My Situation/Question:

I have my trixbox configured with 2 NICS. I have set up a separate network for voice, rather than VLANS, but the trixbox is available from both my "voice" network and my regular network. I have one phone that is not able to be provisioned on the "voice" network, so i just changed the proxy's etc. and point it to the trix's ip on the regular network. Now, the setup-aastra-xml script creates the aastra.cfg with only one proxy correct? Is there a way to program that one phone to use these scripts without using that particular aastra.cfg file, as it will point it to an invalid proxy?

Thanks

Maury

I'm pretty sure that if you add the proxy address to the MAC.cfg file it will override the proxy listed in the aastra.cfg.

Just to make sure im on the right page, reboot phone, it sets up the scripts with the incorrect proxy, edit mac and change to correct proxy, then reboot again? Or would i just change the aastra.cfg file to the other IP, reboot the phone, it installs the scripts with the correct IP, then change the aastra.cfg back?

You don't need to change the

You don't need to change the aastra.cfg file at all, only the MAC.cfg file for the phone in question.

Add the proxy address you want in that MAC.cfg file and it will override the one in the aastra.cfg file. Reboot the phone after making the change.

Oki Doki, i'll give it a shot and report back. I just thought it might be easier to change the aastra.cfg since im assuming when the mac.cfg gets re-written with the scripts, it takes some info from the aastra.cfg. Less typing :)

Thanks again

Once a phone is provisioned,

Once a phone is provisioned, the scripts won't re-generate the MAC.cfg files unless you re-provisiion the phone by logging out and logging back in. As long as you don't do that you'll be fine.

Plus, you can change ownership on the MAC.cfg for the phone in question so that the scripts can't change it, if you want.

Happened to look in the web

Happened to look in the web interface on the phone and just changed the startup script to the correct IP after the first reboot, and rebooted again, logged in, everything worked like a charm. Thanks Again KodaK. Now, is it Kodak, like the cameras, or Koda K? I have a feeling i'll be seeing alot of you :)

It's KodaK like the film

It's KodaK like the film company. And, no, there's not a good story. There's a story, but it's short and boring and has no entertainment value.
