Polycom Dialing/Digimap Issue

Hello,

We have recently implemented Tribox Pro CCE with Polycom 501 and 301 phones and are very pleased with the solution so far. However, one problem that we are encountering is that we have to dial 9+nxx-xxxx to dial out for local calls from the Polycom phones. We would like the users to be able to dial just nxx-xxxx to call local numbers. One thing to notice here is that we are able to dial "nxx-xxxx" in HUD and make the call but not from the Polycom phone. This makes me think that this is a Phone digimap issue.

Here are my dialing plans configured in Trixbox:

---------------------------------------
9 + nxxxxxx local test local call VoIP: Bandwidth 1 +1702
9 + 11 Emergency 911 local call 0
9 + 411 local call 1
9 + 611 local call 1
9 + 0 Telco Operator local call 1
9 + 1nxxnxxxxxx Standard long di... local call VoIP: Bandwidth 1
9 + nxxnxxxxxx Standard long di... long distance VoIP: Bandwidth 1 +1
9 + 011. international VoIP: Bandwidth 1
----------------------------------------

Here is the digimap that is setup for Polycom 501:

-----------------------------------------
[2-9]11|0T|100|101|011xxx.T|9011xxx.T|1[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|91[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|9[2-9]xxxxxx|*xx|[8]xxx|[2-7]xx
-----------------------------------------

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance.

Should be a simple digitmap modification

You should be able to add:

[2-9]xxxxxx

to the end of your digitmap and that will allow the passing of those digits. Depending on the configuration of your internal dialplan (are you on a 3 or 4 digit dial, or something different?), you may need to be a bit more granular in the way you break out your local dial, or users will have to press the send softkey to execute an internal call.

Hope that helps-

Josh

I blank out the digitmap

I blank out the digitmap when I setup new systems = and just explain to people its like a cell phone - this way they can type/change digits - and then press the "dial" softkey.

i do that in the sip.cfg located in the tftpboot directory.

don't blame poly :-)

I think your issue might be with the trixbox dialplan. Why do all the plans start with 9+

If you dial your polycom before you pickup the handset you can test and see if it is an issue with your polycom dialplan or your trixbox dialplan because the polycom dialplan inside of sip.cfg is ignored if you dial first, then pickup the phone. The number on the screen is sent to the trixbox when you pickup.

Also, when dialing from Hud, it will put a 9 in front for you so that you don't have to. Look through all of your settings in Hud and you will see that in there. I always have to turn that setting off because we don't press 9 before local calls.
