RCBFX trixbox 2.6 PANICS

Okay this is covered in 15 threads and I probably cant hit them all so hopefully everyone sees this.

Side note My programmer will probably shoot me for this post :)

We are pretty sure we have fixed the issue. We are running through out internal testing now to make sure nothing else broke.

We have bridged a call with EC via RCBFX on trixbox 2.6.0.5 using an Intel Motherboard which was where most of the issues were occurring.

Once we go through our testing to ensure nothing else broke we will put up an rpm for a beta release. The instructions will be linked off of this thread.

I don't have a solid release time but as soon as our internal check list completes baring any explosions or rips through time and space we will get this out.

Let me say thank you to everyone who has patiently been waiting for this to happen.

Keep an eye open I will update soon.....

Alright, I'm throwing in a fresh drive and installing a clean copy of 2.6. Will not install drivers for my RCBFX cards until that RPM is ready. Hopefully then I will be able to:

1. Not have random kernel panics
2. Not have Asterisk crash on load
3. Have RCBFX answer incoming calls
4. Have RCBFX place outbound calls

ok all this is beta which

ok all this is beta which means it has passed everything internally but hasn't been through the paces on enough real world boxes, remember our lab is closer to "perfect world" than not. this has been run on trix 2.6.0.7 for the last 6 hours and rcbfx has seen hundreds of calls.

I recommend trying this on a TEST SERVER first do NOT take down a production machine. If you take down a production machine it is t your own risk at this point, it should work but again perfect world is not the real world. If you test this please post your success here this will help us gage what people are seeing.

you should yum remove rhino-$(uname -r) before installing the above rpm

the above rpm can be installed with:
rpm -ivh rhino-2.6.18-53.1.4.el5-1.4.9.1-2.2.5.2.rpm

Again to everyone thank you for your patients.....

Installed the beta

Alright, I did the following:

- Installed Trixbox 2.6 on a blank drive
- Updated via YUM to latest packages in Trixbox repositories
- Downloaded and installed rhino-2.6.18-53.1.4.el5-1.4.9.1-2.2.5.2.rpm
- Duplicated my FreePBX configuration that was working on Trixbox 2.2.12 + Rhino 2.2.1-beta2

Here's where I'm at:

- no more kernel panics/asterisk hardlocks
- RCBFX cards detect and configure with genzaptelconf and ztcfg
- ZTTOOL reports 2 cards with OK status
- Rhino cards will not answer incoming calls
- Rhino cards will not place outbound calls

Bad echo

I followed these instructions and they worked great. We now have inbound/outbound calls on our R4FXO-EC. The only problem is that there's a severe echo. I've tried commenting out:
;echotraining=800
in zapata.conf. Prior to upgrading from 2.2 ->2.6, everything was fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric

I also just recently upgraded to 2.6.0.7 with a r1t1 card and am experiencing echo problems. I was previously running trixbox 2.2 with no problems.

Any one find a fix for the echo issue? When I run ztcfg -vv I get OSLEC as my echo cancellation. Should this be HWEC and is this the reason I get echo? What is the latest firmware version for the Rhino 4FXOEC?

Digium is trying to prefect

Digium is trying to prefect their Echo Canceller, to do this it appears necessary to rewrite zaptel rather than their kernel modules. So far we have had some luck with adding echotraining=0 to zapata.conf. Zaptel automatically uses HWEC if available regardless of SWEC. Ensure you are using Rhino Package 2.5.0.3 which has more changes. Unfortunately a side effect of being bleeding edge is bugs. if 1.4.9.2 was perfect we wouldn't need a 1.4.10 and I imagine 1.4.10.2 etc very soon. As I have said in the past as we go through if something is in our power to fix we will do our best to make it happen.

James can i have my job back???

Just wanted to let you know that the new build (2.2.5.3) works with the dualcore twin opterons.

Thought you guys might like to have that confirmed. No echo and all came back up fine with no panic.

Thanks again for the great continued service and support to you and the team!

Best regards,
todd

James after upgrade to 2.6.0.7 my RCB4FXO not working.

I loaded the new drivers but the card is not reconigized. Doing a dmesg | grep rchfx produces nothing but a blank line. Card worked great before upgrading from 2.2.5 to 2.6.0.7.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Keith
