RCBFX8 - 0 channels detected

I'm having a really hard time getting my 8 port FXO card working in Trixbox 2.6. I'm using the 2.6 rpm from the rhino 'beta' ftp site, as well as the newest beta firmware for the card. dmesg shows the following output:

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get past this step. Running ztcfg and setup-pstn don't seem to do anything, and the only output I can get is:

This is because you haven't configured zaptel.conf and my guess is you probably havent configured zapata.conf.

Sorry, I wrote a huge reply, and my internet died so it didn't get through.
I am in Indonesia if it makes a difference. AFIK the tones here are the same as in the US though.
I'm currently just trying to get this thing to work, so I only have one of the PSTN lines connected.
From those docs, I believe my zaptel.conf should read:
loadzone=us
defaultzone=us
fxoks=1
It seems as though this is overwritten any time I run any of the config tools though. I've read through zapata.conf, and I think it should be ok with the defaults, is this wrong?

Ok, I edited the zaptel.conf file to show only the one line, and have not run any other config options after that, and it seems to work.
However, the line is very very noisy (and it isn't when just plugging a phone directly into the PSTN line that is now in the rhino card), what can I do to fix that?

Ok, sorry for all the posts, but I thought I should write out exactly what I did to get this working in case someone else has similar problems. Also, it turns out that the noise was just a bad line, so is not trixbox
*Assuming the latest firmware is already installed on the FXO
1: Install Trixbox 2.6.x
2: Install the Rhino RPM from: ftp://ftp.rhinoequipment.com/Drivers/Beta/RPMS/trixbox/CE/2.6/
2a: wget ftp://ftp.rhinoequipment.com/Drivers/Beta/RPMS/trixbox/CE/2.6/***...
2b: rpm -ivh rhinorpmname.rpm
3: amportal stop
4: modprobe rcbfx
5: check to see if the module detected the card
5a: dmesg | grep rcbfx
6: genzaptelconf
7: run zttool , the card should say 'OK'
8: edit /etc/zaptel.conf , comment out any of the FXOs that aren't in use. In my case I have an 8 port card and am only using one port on it for now.
9: reboot for good measure (shouldn't be needed AFIK)
10: Use as normal!
So it turns out that I was just messing myself up by reading too many guides with conflicting information when it turns out all I needed was these simple steps!

Unfortunately the world of open source is very fluid. The most up to date information on using our products is availible in our knowledge base at:

It is very difficult to clean up the internet especially when half the instructions out there belong to others. If you would like directions from the horses mouth the KB is it. In technology any post over a month old is probably well out of date.
