Rhino Support trixbox 2.6.X.X
!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE MESSAGE!!!!!!
trixbox 2.6 is using a zaptel version at or above 1.4.8. Please note that older rpms including the rpms in the repo will NOT work. starting at version 1.4.8 there was a minor API change in zaptel that affects the way T1 and E1 are identified. That aside unfortunately 1.4.8 has a bug that prevents the proper loading of the tone zone. This negatively impacts the use of all zaptel compatible cards. This issue is resolved in zaptel 1.4.9.1 and from my understanding a new package is in the works. Once the new zaptel version is posted and installed you may do the following to install rhino's drivers.
yum remove rhino-$(uname -r)
wget ftp://ftp.rhinoequipment.com/Drivers/RPMS/trixbox/CE/2.4/rhino-2....
rpm -ivh rhino-2.6.18-53.1.4.el5-1.4.8-2.2.4.rpm
This will load the proper Rhino kernel modules for use on your system.
AGAIN THIS IS NOT SUPPORTED WITH ZAPTEL 1.4.8- INSTALLED!!!!!
you can try commenting out the tonezone lines in zaptel.conf but this may break other stuff so do it at your own risk...
Hi James, is there any new word on this? I haven't seen much going back and forth in any of the forums.
I'm getting ready to roll out another new install and I'm afraid of putting 2.4 on with any updates whatsoever. Right now, I'm running a system that just has 2.4 on it with no updates (you graciously saved my butt late this past Saturday night) and it has to be rebooted at least once during the day. There are only 17 extensions with fairly heavy use in the late afternoons.
*Bump*
I also need status on 2.6 compatibility:
2.6 + RCBFX + Rhino RPM = kernel panic
2.6 + RCBFX + Rhino 2.2.4 compiled from source = kernel panic
2.6 + RCBFX + Rhino 2.2.5.0 compiled from source = RCBFX module loads, but asterisk hardlocks system on start
Very frustrating!
