Too much tx gain

I have a new system with a very anoying issue. My GXP-2000 phones have way too much outgoing gain. However, I have a BT-102 that is fine and I have a HT-286 (with flat 0db gain set) that is also fine.

Does anybody have this issue and how do I correct it?

Any good ideas would be welcome because, as it stands now you have to keep your face about 4" away from the phone or it distorts.

heh my users complain that their GXP1200/2010 have too loud handsets and when you see them talking on the phone they some times hold the handset away from their ear and speak to it as if they have the speaker phone turned on.

this isn't consistent, but happens in 1 out of 5 calls.

so far, i haven't tested if the txgain is also too loud.
