Has anyone tried the recently released SIP firmware 8.3(4) SR1?

It was released on the 5th March 2008 so someone must have tried it. Any good? Worth going to from 8.3.3?

It loads fine...

I can't see any difference atm but perhaps it's sorted the random reset I was getting with 8.3.3. I've got it installed on two 7970Gs here and both are running fine at the moment...

Would be nice to know if

Would be nice to know if there are improvements, the Cisco phones have always the worst SIP firmware around....well...maybe second to worst, certainly the worst when you factor in the cost of the phones. When you pay $80 for a phone you cant expect great things. When you pay hundreds of dollars for something with a Cisco logo on it, you expect perfection.

Agreed

I couldn't see a readme in the list so can't tell you what's improved.

As for the directories list, I've still not managed to get a custom directory working -even though I've got IIS serving the files just fine here. I've lost the Intercom so just have "Missed Calls", "Received Calls" and "Placed Calls"

Looks ok so far though I've had a few disconnects/restarts since loading it.

HTH

I think the time is sorted

Oh and it looks like the time automatically updates again.

SIP Firmware for Cisco 7970 IP Phone

I just purchased a new Cisco 7970 IP Phone but need to load firmware to migrate it to SIP. Where do I get this firmware? Can anyone e-mail it to me? Thanks. Niall

I'm trying to use the 7970

I'm trying to use the 7970 with this sip load but my phone keeps saying "registering" and in asterisk console i do not see any registration attempt.

I already tried the SEP files found on voip-info and in another post form this forum but without success.

Would anybody be so kind to copy and paste his working configuration file?

Thank you very much

Mark
